Best weather for an open gypsy. Clear mornings, birds, and comfortable evenings. Morning 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and evening 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM. Carry a jacket — the hills are cold before sunrise.
Seasons
April – June
Summer
Hot. Prefer the morning gypsy. Animals may concentrate near remaining water. Carry water, a hat, and realistic expectations — this is Hadoti heat, not a hill station.
July – September
Monsoon
Core roads may close after rain. The hills turn green and the Chambal rises. Confirm the gate the day you travel with the Field Director office — do not assume a Kota weekend is open.
