After the rains, two tigers seen on a Mukundra gypsy

After rain, Mukundra’s Vindhyan hills turn green and the gypsy tracks feel different. On 10 August 2026, Local18 / News18 reported that visitors on a jungle safari in Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve, Kota, photographed a tiger resting by water and, later in the same outing, two tigers in grass and scrub — one sitting, one passing behind.

The report quotes environment watcher Lalit Borsi: seeing two tigers together was the moment people on that gypsy will remember. Cloud, wet earth and post-monsoon cover are part of why the drive looked so good on camera. That is weather and luck. It is not a Forest Department guarantee that the next vehicle will see the same thing.

Mukundra remains a restoration landscape. Tigers were returned here through official translocation. A press photograph does not change the rule on this site: plan for leopard hills, deer, langur alarm and the Chambal gorge. Treat a tiger as a gift.

If you want to go after rain, call the Field Director office first. Core roads can close. Use only the gate printed on the permit. Morning 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and evening 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM are the working pattern. Indicative gypsy ₹4,500 — confirm the live Forest tariff.
